The Cone of Silence
There is a meteorological term called “the cone of silence”. When a storm is so big and so powerful, there can be places that are higher than and above the radar. The radar cannot “see” it because it is directly above it so it will appear as a black circle on the radar screen. So why am I telling you this? There are spiritual storms in our life that we go through that seem bigger than anything we have ever gone through before. Maybe you are in one now. Maybe you need this for what is around the bend. Just know that when you are in that dark place of a storm of life, know that there is One right beside you. You are not going through it alone even though it may feel like you are. You may be praying and asking the Lord, “Lord, what is going on? Why is this happening? How do I get out of this place?” You may not even get an answer, just yet. It’s not that God is playing games with you. Some of the darkest and trying places that we go through are for this one reason…to grow us and increase our spiritual strength of faith. In the book of James 1:2-4 it is written, “Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.” So that tells us that God is ok with us going through the tough places in life. He knows that if we go through it, trusting Him, that He will safely lead us through, it will change us for the better. When you have done everything that you know to do, wait and keep waiting until He brings you out of it. We have this promise to hold onto in the storms of life from Romans 8:38-39, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” So it doesn’t matter how high those storm clouds get, He is right there with you and He WILL see you safely through. You’ve got His Word on it! 🙂
